Mary Russell, College and Career Programs Coordinator Corona del Mar High School
Newport Beach, California
As the College and Career Programs Coordinator, I run a very robust and successful college and career program for both high school and middle school students on our campus. My job responsibilities include scheduling and implementing all college/career visits and events, hosting several annual fall and spring college/career fairs, hosting all military and US service academy visits, Coastline ROP course presentations and registration. I also assist in administrating practice PSAT and PACT tests, dual enrollment with community colleges, CTE courses, community service opportunities and youth employment/internships. I am responsible for keeping yearly updates on my CDM/ROP College Planning Guide, guiding post HS options for special needs students, and working with NCAA college bound student athletes and much more! My main objective is to develop strong relationships with our college and career partners to effectively promote school culture and fit for all our CDM students.
What advice do you give students?
It doesn’t really make a difference what college or university you choose to attend. If you are committed to studying hard and getting good grades, you will graduate with a college degree and be gainfully employed in a successful career!
